Watch Chvrches Cover Kendrick Lamar
With help from some outside producers, Chvrches try to launch themselves into the mainstream. The result is an uncomplicated, unsurprising collection of steely synth pop. The onus on any band naming their album Love Is Dead is to either prove it or prove it wrong. But on Love Is Dead, Chvrches misjudge the moment a few different ways. The trio always prided themselves on their resourcefulness—the fact that a damp Glasgow basement and a phalanx of obscure synthesizers wielded by members Iain Cook and Martin Doherty made their debut The Bones of What You Believe one of the few DIY in spirit, if not label albums to break the UK Top Besides, Chvrches have always been a smart pop band that is now, for some reason, second-guessing its instincts. Mayberry searches relentlessly for light in the dark.

Love Is Dead is the third studio album by Scottish synth-pop band Chvrches. The album was co-produced by Greg Kurstin , marking the first time the band have worked with outside producers. The album was announced by Martin Doherty at the start of January , with frontwoman Lauren Mayberry accidentally revealing the album's name in a since-deleted interview that same month. After wiping their social media accounts, the band released the lead single, " Get Out ", on 31 January. The track listing for the album was released two days before the next single, " My Enemy ", which featured Berninger, was released on 28 February.
